Similar quotes have been repeated by William Shakespeare, Leonardo Da Vinci, Cicero and even the Bible. Why? Because it is so true! Ever notice how artwork captures your attention when the eyes are captured well?

Deena Steward was born and raised in California before moving to Colorado in 1993. Throughout her life, she has always been drawn to the beauty of nature and wildlife. Even after living in Colorado for more than 30 years, Colorado still surprises her with new inspirations.

Steward aspires to capture the personalities of the wildlife and domestic pets in her work. In 2019, she started burning her designs on cherry and maple wood before discovering the realistic effects you can get with basswood and aspen.

Most of the wood used in the engraving process is locally sourced, Reclaimed Colorado Aspen.

The most recent endevors include drinkware and smartphone cases. With these items, her artistic process is a little different. As with the engravings, she starts with a combination of her original photos and photos from other photographers (used by permission) as base references. The difference starts at that point. Depending on the subject and creative results envision, she then crafts a unique design by adding filters or guiding AI to get the final design. With the objective of keeping products affordable, she has paired up with Printify to POD designs on most models of smartphone cases (Order Here).
